Our Clear View® Caps fit John Deere 8000 T, 8500T, 9000 T, and the 9800 Series (8295RT, 8310RT, 8320RT, 8345RT, 8360RT, 8370RT, 9430T, 9460RT, 9470RT, 9510RT, 9520RT, 9530T, 9560RT, 9570RT, 9630T,9460RT) T Tractors & RX Series Tractors. They assist you by giving operators the ability to view and maintain proper oil levels of the idler and roller hubs. Clarity of oil, as well as sufficient oil, can help prevent the replacement and downtime of your equipment due to idler and roller repair.

Installation instructions:
John Deere 8000 T Series
(Fits all 8100T, 8200T, 8300T, 8400T, 8110T, 8210T, 8310T, 8410T; early 8120T, 8220T, 8320T, 8420T, 8520T prior to s/n 901999 with 5' wide roller rims.)
  • Remove OEM cap.
  • Allow oil to completely drain. Remove any old gasket material from face of roller and idler hubs.
  • Bolt the Kile® Clear View® Caps, with gaskets, to the hub and tighten bolts to 35-45 inch pounds.
  • Replace oil to manufacture specifications.
  • Tighten plug with plug wrench.
  • DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN MOUNTING BOLTS. OVER TIGHTENING VOIDS WARRANTY. Use only soap and water to clean caps, no solvents (solvents can cause clouding and premature failure of caps. Solvent use will void warranty)
John Deere 8500 T Series
 (Fits 8120T, 8220T, 8320T, 8420T, 8520T, with 8" wide roller rims; late 8120T, 8220T, 8320T, 8420T, 8520T, s/n 902000 & up with 5" wide roller rims; all 8230T, 8330T, 8430T)
Idler Cap Installation: 
  • Remove OEM cap. Allow oil to completely drain. Remove any old gasket material from face of idler hubs. Bolt the Kile® Clear View® Caps, with gaskets, to the hub and tighten bolts to 35-45 inch pounds. Replace oil to manufacture specifications. Tighten plug with plug wrench. Do not overtighten. Overtightening voids warranty
  • Mid-Roller Cap Installation:
  • Remove OEM cap and allow oil to completely drain.
  • Place o-ring (K JD240S7-ROR) on cap. To prevent possible oil leakage from o-ring, (it is recommended to apply JD part #PM11655866; Permatex non-hardening gasket sealant Part#81160; Loctite non-hardening Gasket Sealant #2; or equivalent products) silicon compound to o-ring/cap area and install. NOTE: in some cases threads were not taped deep enough causing caps to not make contact with the roller face. More washers or shorter bolts will correct this issue.
  • Secure with OEM bolts (torque bolts to 75-85 inch lbs).
  • Replace lubricant in hub to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Install plug and tighten with plug wrench.
  • Use only soap and water to clean caps, no solvents (solvents can cause clouding and premature failure of caps. Solvent use will void warranty)
John Deere 9000 T Series
(Fits 9300T, 9400T, 9320T, 9420T, 9520T,9620T)
Mid-Roller Cap Installation:
  • Remove OEM cap and allow oil to completely drain.
  • Place o-ring (K JD240S7-ROR) on cap. To prevent possible oil leakage from o-ring, (it is recommended to apply JD part #PM11655866; Permatex non-hardening gasket sealant Part #81160; Loctite non-hardening Gasket Sealant #2; or equivalent products) silicone compound to o-ring/cap area and install. NOTE: in some cases threads were not taped deep enough causing caps to not make contact with the roller face. More washers or shorter bolts will correct this issue.
  • Secure with OEM bolts (torque bolts to 75-85 inch lbs).
  • Replace lubricant in hub to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Install plug and tighten with plug wrench.
Idler Cap Installation:
  • Remove OEM Cap and allow oil to completely drain.
  • Clean threads and o-ring groove. Place o-ring (K JD159-IOR) on Clear View® Cap making sure it is seated to the flange of the cap.
  • To prevent possible oil leakage from o-ring, it is recommended to apply (it is recommended to apply JD part #PM11655866; Permatex non-hardening gasket sealant Part #81160; Loctite non-hardening Gasket Sealant #2; or equivalent products) silicon compound to o-ring/cap area and install.
  • When installing onto the hub, make sure the cap is being turned on straight and not cross threaded.
  • When the o-ring starts to contact the hub watch that the o-ring enters the hub grove and seats properly.
  • When the flange contacts the hub the cap is installed.
  • Replace lubricant in hub to mfg specifications.
  • Install plug and tighten with plug wrench.
  • NOTE After all hubs have been filled, be sure caps have sealed.
  • Use only soap and water to clean caps, no solvents (solvents can cause clouding and premature failure of caps. Solvent use will void warranty)
John Deere 9800 T Series- 8RT & 9RT Clear View® Cap Kits
 (8RT kit fits 8295RT; 8310RT; 8320RT; 8345RT; 8370RT-------9RT kit fits 9430T; 9460RT; 9470RT; 9510RT; 9520RT; 9530T; 9560RT; 9570RT; 9460RT)
Idler:
  • Remove OEM cap and allow cavity to completely drain.
  • Clean the face of hub.
  • Lightly grease the o-ring (part#JD366-OR) before installing and place in hub o-ring groove.
  • With o-ring in groove bolt cap (part#JD9852 I) on hub and torque bolts to 60-65 inch pounds.
  • Fill cavity with manufactures recommended oil.
  • Tighten plug with plug wrench.
Roller:
  • Remove OEM cap and allow cavity to completely drain.
  • Clean the face of hub and o-ring groove.
  • Lightly grease the o-ring (part#JD348-OR) before installing and place in hub o-ring groove.
  • With o-ring in groove bolt cap (part#JD9850 R) on hub and torque bolts to 40-45 inch pounds.
  • Fill cavity with manufactures recommended oil.
  • Tighten plug with plug wrench.

Idler:
  • Remove OEM cap and allow cavity to completely drain.
  • Clean the face of hub.
  • Lightly grease the o-ring (part#JD366-OR) before installing and place in hub o-ring groove.
  • With o-ring in groove bolt cap (part#JD9852 I) on hub and torque bolts to 60-65 inch pounds.
  • Fill cavity with manufactures recommended oil.
  • Tighten plug with plug wrench.
Roller:
  • Remove OEM cap and allow cavity to completely drain.
  • Clean the face of hub and o-ring groove.
  • Lightly grease the o-ring (part#JD348-OR) before installing and place in hub o-ring groove.
  • With o-ring in groove bolt cap (part#JD9850 R) on hub and torque bolts to 40-45 inch pounds.
